This is the first time that “the chef who has achieved every important trophy in world food industry” attends at a chef contest in Viet Nam.
Eckart Witzigmann was born in Austria. He received the rare
award chef of the century from the Gault Millau guide in 1994 and was ranked
among the world greatest chefs.
Mr. Eckart had had 13 years experience in numerous countries
in the world before he came to German in 1971 and developed his career here. At
that time, his restaurant Aubergine in Munich was considered as the first
restaurant in German. With relentless efforts and dedication, Mr. Eckart
Witzigmann became another chef in the world to receive the esteemed 3-star
Michelin in 1979. This is what every chef in this planet is longing for.
Chef of the Century Eckart Witzigmann.
Mr. Eckact Witzigmann is respected not only because of his
exceptional talent but also because he has been a passionate teacher. The
phrase “Witzigmann’s disciples” is numerously repeated in world food industry.
Beside training and consulting all over the world, Witzigmann is also one of the
most successful culinary authors within 20 years.
Witzigmann began his new projects in 2002 named Ekart
Witzigmann Palazzo and Witzigmann-Roncalli-Bajazzo, which have been praised and
counted by kings and national leaders. He was also mentioned on New York Times
as “chef of kings and gods”.
The name Eckart Witzigmann is a parameter of quality such as
ECKART (international Eckar Witzigmann Awards). This award has been given since
2004 by Eckart himself in order to honor excellent individuals in culinary art,
renewal, responsibility and enjoyment, and living culture.
The notable chef was also conferred tittle of Honor
Professor – Doctor by Orebo University (Sweden) not to honor his past
achievements but also to preserve his knowledge passed on next generations.
Eckart Witzigmann is especially proud of this tittle.
There have been many famous culinary experts participated in
The Golden Spoon contests as professional judges, such as chef Otto Weibel –
Chairman of Singaporean Chefs Association, Robert Danhi – expert of Southeast
Asian food, Marco Brueschweiler – global master chef conferred by Chefs
Association of the World, and Sakal PHOEUNG – Chairman of Vietnamese Escoffier
Association. However, there had been no precedent that a Chef of the Century
participates at a culinary contest in Vietnam. This event contributes to affirm
professionalism and international stature of the contest. Moreover, this is a
great opportunity to introduce Vietnamese rich, diverse cuisine to the world.
