Teams in the Preliminary round in the Golden Spoon Contest 2015, Mekong Delta Region
The
contest was jointly organized by Minh Long I Co. Ltd. and Center for Business
Study and Assistance (BSA). This year, the Mekong Delta event has 23 teams from
6 provinces: Can Tho, Dong Thap, An Giang, Tien Giang, Kien Giang and Vinh
Long. A total of 69 chefs from restaurants, hotels and resorts will participate
on June 2 and 3.
Golden
Spoon 2015’s theme is "Home taste - Vietnamese spice journey". It attempts to discover and promote
outstanding cuisine from various regions. The emphasis of this year's contest
is focused on spices and creating tasty and nutritious dishes, plus aiming to
build a Vietnamese Spice Map. Accordingly, chefs should have good knowledge of
nutrition, ensuring the correct use, presentation and creativity.
In
addition, this season will also promote the establishment of a Golden Spoon
Chef Club and issue certificates for winning restaurants or hotels. The menus
of these outlets will earn the right to display the Golden Spoon logo for
winning dishes. It is hoped this will assist customers in identifying authentic
Vietnamese dishes and ensure local and international standards. The total prize
is valued in excess of VND 3 billion.
