The
event, a dinner to honour France’s cuisine, will take place at the French
Embassy in Hanoi and the French Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City, French
Consul General to HCM City Emmanuel Ly-Batallan said at a press conference on
March 14.
Chefs
of French cuisine will have a chance to show off their skills and share
experience with peers, thus celebrating France’s gastronomy.
At
this year’s Gout de France – the third of its kind so far, high school and university
students will also take part in the preparation of a French-style meal, the
diplomat said.
He
added that in HCM City, the Hoa Sen University and the University of
Technology, which offers cookery courses, will respectively coordinate with
France’s Vatel university and Cergy Pontoise University to help high school
students come to learn about the programme and experience of alumni who used to
pursue cuisine and hotel-related courses in France.
The
Gout de France is organised in about 150 countries around the world with a view
to honouring the creativity and quality of France’s gastronomy, which is
considered a pillar of the country’s heritage.
